Salamanca Tech Summit: Epicentro de la innovación y la tecnología

The Salamanca Tech Summit congress, the largest event in the city dedicated to new technologies, will once again position the city as the epicenter of innovation and networking from June 25th to 27th. Salamanca Mayor Carlos García Carbayo and University of Salamanca Rector Juan Manuel Corchado presented this second edition today, which will bring together national experts in artificial intelligence, animation, video games, biotechnology, cybersecurity, digitalization, the Spanish economy, and blockchain.

García Carbayo emphasized during the presentation that this is a "great event that will further project the city’s image linked to new technologies." He also noted that Salamanca is the province in Spain that has shown the most significant increase in technological intensity in its labor market between 2013 and 2024. Additionally, there are currently 19 gazelle companies established in the city, companies that have grown by 73% in three years starting with at least ten employees.

The Mayor of Salamanca highlighted this congress as a meeting point where researchers, disseminators, companies, research centers, public institutions, and investors come together to weave a network of innovation.

University of Salamanca Rector Juan Manuel Corchado stated that the goal is to strengthen Salamanca and the University’s leadership position as a technological hub. He announced that the University of Salamanca will launch two master’s programs in Cybersecurity and Cybercrime, as well as a doctorate in Artificial Intelligence in the upcoming academic year.

Regarding the innovations of this edition, the rector highlighted the celebration of the event "COMHIS – New Forms of Hispanic Communication" organized by the GIR Hispanoverso, a pioneering space for reflection and action on the role of digital communication in projecting Spain’s image.
