Protección Civil de la Junta de Castilla y León atiende 1.350 llamadas por corte de electricidad y gestiona 465 incidentes

The President of the Junta has chaired the meeting of the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (CECOPI), held in Valladolid, following the declaration by the regional government of level 2 of the Civil Protection Plan of Castilla y León (PLANCAL) to coordinate the necessary actions in response to this national emergency situation.

During the CECOPI meeting, chaired by the President of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, and attended by various involved organizations, different resources have been activated for the management and recovery of normalcy following the situation caused by the widespread power outage.

Thus, from CECOPI, the supply of fuel for hospital generators has been coordinated in case of potential shortages. Likewise, from Room 112 through the Warning Terminal, information has been provided to the security forces and prevention, firefighting, and rescue services to support and monitor the needs in hospitals, health centers, residences, and centers for dependent persons.

On the other hand, from the Emergency Coordination Center of Castilla y León, the Military Emergency Unit has been requested for the supply of electric generators in the main hospitals of the Community and buildings with vulnerable individuals; and communication has also been coordinated between Rooms 112, SACYL, and the Emergency Coordination Center in the event of temporary telephone outages.

The Logistics and Emergency Support Unit has been activated to provide the necessary logistical support for resolving incidents arising from the power outage. Likewise, all Civil Protection Volunteer Groups have been called upon to participate in the emergency.
