The winners in the drawing category were students David Tejedor Campos, from Fernando de Rojas school in Burgos, and Noa Pablo Fernández, from Milagrosa Las Nieves school in Ávila, both from the first cycle of Primary Education.

Within the second cycle of Primary Education, the winners for their drawings were Andrés Rodríguez Conde, also from Milagrosa Las Nieves school in Ávila, and Irene Ruiz Garrote, from Alonso Berruguete educational center in Valladolid.

The Drawing category also includes prizes for Secondary Education students, which were awarded to students Mercedes García del Arco, from Tierras de Abadengo institute in Lumbrales (Salamanca), and Sara Aguado García-Luján, from María de Molina institute in Zamora.

The winning drawings in the Special Basic Education section were Nira Pérez López, from Camino de Santiago institute in Burgos, and Leonardo Jiménez Peral, from Santa Isabel center in Soria. On the other hand, students Alexandru Ochoa Bustillo, from San Nicolás de Bari center in León, and Dounia Rasmi, from Príncipe Don Juan center in Zamora, won the two prizes in Special Education Transition to Adult Life.

In the second category, focused on creating an avatar, the contest prizes went to students Irina Eliseeva, from San Agustín school in Valladolid, and Nerea Ullán Bejarano, from Campo Charro school in Salamanca. In the case of the third category, for creating a music video based on the emergency service song ‘We are 1-1-2’, the prize was left vacant.

By provinces

The distribution of the twelve contest winners by provinces places Ávila in first place, with three awards, followed by Burgos, Salamanca, and Valladolid, with two awarded works each. A student from León, Soria, and Zamora were also awarded in this edition.

Aside from the contest, the Civil Protection and Emergency Agency wanted to acknowledge the video about 1-1-2 sent last November by the Bergidum Special Education Center in Ponferrada (León), as well as the drawings and letters dedicated to the 1-1-2 operators prepared by Primary students from La Milagrosa and Santa Florentina schools in Valladolid, which they handed over during their visit to the emergency center in March.

The Civil Protection and Emergency Agency organizes the ‘What is 1-1-2 for you?’ contest, which this year reached its thirteenth edition, as part of the activities scheduled every year on the occasion of European 1-1-2 Day, celebrated on February 11.

The contest aims to achieve two fundamental objectives, which are, on one hand, to inform children and adolescents in the Community about the European emergency hotline and its operation, and on the other hand, to promote responsible use of the emergency number among them.
