The new website of the City Hall, adapted to the current needs and with the primary goal of making it very easy for citizens to quickly and intuitively find everything they are looking for, recorded 316,590 unique users and 1.8 million visits during its first six months.
Between November 1, 2024, and April 30, 2025, the website www.aytosalamanca.es registered 143 active users per minute, with an average interaction time of 1 minute and 27 seconds. The distribution of unique users was 191,731 (60.56% of the total) via mobile phones, 121,724 (38.45%) via computers, and 4,657 (1.47%) via tablets.
The majority of visits came from Spain (91.76% of total users), with the rest coming from the United States (2.54%), the Netherlands (0.8%), Ireland (0.73%), Germany (0.59%), France (0.47%), and Portugal (0.42%).
The most visited sections corresponded, in order, to the public job offer (229,197 visits; 12.89% of the total); the home page (197,009 visits; 11.08%); the search engine (93,080 visits; 5.24%); the ‘Tourism, culture, education, and libraries’ section (39,612 visits; 2.23%); and the traffic control section (29,756 visits; 1.67%).
On the other hand, the Electronic Headquarters www.aytosalamanca.gob.es registered 56,141 unique users and 329,000 visits in six months, with 47 active users per minute and an average interaction time of 2 minutes and 23 seconds. Most visits were through computers (36,274; 64.61% of the total), followed by mobile phones (19,464; 34.67%), and tablets (517; 0.92%).
The most requested procedures were, in order, the request or registration certificate; registration by change of residence in the Municipal Register of Inhabitants; selection of permanent staff; queries, complaints, suggestions, and congratulations; and the request for aid for extraordinary expenses.
Finally, the Chatbot «Vega» conducted 21,323 conversations, with an average duration of 2 minutes and 40 seconds. Through this artificial intelligence technology, users can interact and converse by asking questions and making suggestions. Additionally, all these questions serve as training for «Vega» with the aim of becoming more concise and thorough over time.
Users most frequently searched for information on registration, traffic control system, fine payment, schedules of municipal facilities and services, appointment scheduling, and digital certificates.
A more intuitive and accessible website
The new look of the website www.aytosalamanca.es enhances user experience with more intuitive navigation, accessible content, a menu organized by thematic areas, and a refreshed graphic design.
Communication is also enhanced with announcements, event agendas, and a more complete news section with a greater emphasis on images, videos, and audio that will also facilitate the work of the media.
Additionally, citizen attention is improved with clearer and more comprehensive access to the directory of municipal resources. Information is categorized by themes, making it easier to access the most prominent procedures in different areas that can then be completed on the electronic platform.
This website opens up the City Hall to the public even more by not only offering a modernized transparency portal but also a broader section of open data and a greater focus on encouraging participation.
