The Department of Education will maintain reduced school hours during the months of September and June for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. The department, led by Rocío Lucas, believes that this measure, as demonstrated over the past 10 years, is beneficial for the students in the Community.

Specifically, each academic year begins with new groups, requiring various adjustments in those initial days, and having one less teaching hour –although teachers continue working at the school during this time– helps students adapt progressively.

The Castilla y León Regional Government will implement a care and attention service for students in the second cycle of Early Childhood and Primary Education in public schools, once the school day ends during the months of September and June of the 2025-2026 school year. This addresses a request made by families in the Community.

This care and attention service will be free and voluntary for students, with a maximum duration of sixty minutes.

In addition to this new service, the Department of Education reminds families of another option, which is the school dining service available in schools where it is provided throughout the school year. This ensures a daily balanced diet for children. Currently, over 60% of regular diners eat for free or pay only a portion of the menu due to existing discounts.
