Castilla y León | Department of Environment, Housing, and Land Planning

These initiatives, in their fifth edition in Valladolid and second in Zamora, aim to involve the public in the conservation of native fauna through tasks such as care, rehabilitation, and environmental enrichment.

CRAS Valladolid: Five years of commitment to wildlife

The CRAS in Valladolid will carry out its volunteer program between June 11 and September 16, with morning shifts (9:00 am to 2:00 pm) and afternoon shifts (3:00 pm to 8:00 pm).

Volunteers will participate in activities such as feeding orphaned chicks, facility maintenance, food preparation, and environmental enrichment to enhance the well-being of the animals.

In 2024, 825 specimens were attended to, mostly fallen nestlings. The predominant species include swifts, swallows, martins, and a large number of passerines and finches of different species, such as sparrows, goldfinches, greenfinches, serins, and redstarts, among others. Most of the specimens were handled by the different volunteers.

Registration deadline: Up to ten days before the start of each shift.

CRF Zamora: Second edition with broad participation

On the other hand, the Fauna Reception Center (CRF) in Villaralbo (Zamora) will hold its second edition from June 9 to August 29, with morning hours (9:00 am to 1:00 pm) and afternoon hours (5:00 pm to 9:00 pm).
