Castilla y León ofrece récord de 770 plazas para formación sanitaria specializada

Castilla y León will once again expand its offer of specialized health training through the residency system, reaching a record number of 770 positions for the upcoming year (755 last year or 722 at the beginning of the legislature). This represents 96.13% of the 801 positions accredited by the Ministry of Health, making it the region offering the most positions per 100,000 inhabitants and the fifth in the National Health System.

With this historic effort of 770 available positions, the Department of Health continues to strive to alleviate the shortage of professionals by offering as many positions as legally possible. Noteworthy additions include five new positions for Emergency Medicine, three more for General Surgery and Digestive System (totaling 15), three for Urology (13 in total), one more for Medical Oncology reaching 9, and three more for Obstetric-Gynecological Nursing (totaling 22).

Next year’s call includes 190 positions for future specialists in Family and Community Medicine, the total accredited positions and the same number as last year, reflecting the ongoing efforts of the Castilla y León government in this crucial specialty. The distribution will be as follows: 9 in Ávila; 21 in Burgos; 9 in Aranda de Duero; 11 in Miranda de Ebro; 20 in León; 9 in El Bierzo; 12 in Palencia; 18 in Salamanca; 8 in Segovia; 15 in Soria; 20 in Valladolid West; 18 in Valladolid East; 6 in Medina del Campo; and 14 in Zamora.

Furthermore, the offer includes 425 positions (414 last year) for hospital specialties, highlighting 28 positions for Pediatrics or Internal Medicine, 23 for Anesthesiology, 20 for Radiology, 19 for Psychiatry, and 18 for Clinical Psychology. In summary, there will be 10 in Ávila; 58 in Burgos; 58 in León; 15 in El Bierzo; 17 in Palencia; 93 in Salamanca; 22 in Segovia; 7 in Soria; 56 in Valladolid West; 74 in Valladolid East, and 15 in Zamora.

Regarding specialized training in Nursing, Castilla y León will offer 155 positions out of the 165 accredited by the Ministry of Health. This includes 22 in Obstetric-Gynecological Nursing, 26 in Mental Health, 6 in Occupational Health Nursing, 14 in Pediatrics, and two in Geriatrics. Additionally, there will be 85 positions for Family and Community Nursing.

By areas, the distribution is as follows: 8 in Ávila; 12 in Burgos; 3 in Aranda de Duero; 3 in Miranda de Ebro; 22 in León; 10 in El Bierzo; 8 in Palencia; 19 in Salamanca; 9 in Segovia; 10 in Soria; 20 in Valladolid West; 24 in Valladolid East; one in Medina del Campo; and 6 in Zamora.
