Castilla y León | Ministry of Education

Today, May 14, the Castilla y León Board opens the registration period for the entrance exams to higher artistic education in Drama, Music, Design, and Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Goods. Additionally, interested individuals can also apply for the Music education level test and the entrance exam for the Master’s degree in musical interpretation in artistic education.

The application deadlines vary depending on the education – specific dates for each degree can be found in the attached document – between two dates: June 9 or the 23 of the same month. Starting from June 17, the entrance exams will be held, and if there are still vacant spots in this first call, the Ministry of Education will hold new exams in September.

Participation Requirements

Those who hold a Bachelor’s degree, a certificate of passing the university entrance exam for individuals over 25 years old, or a degree in higher artistic education, university, or Higher Technician may apply for the specific entrance exams for these educations. Additionally, applicants over 16 years old for Music and 18 for other educations, who do not meet any of the academic requirements mentioned above, must pass a maturity test to later be able to take the corresponding specific entrance exam.

On the other hand, those who hold a Higher Technician degree in Plastic Arts and Design can directly access higher artistic education in Design and Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Goods offered at the art schools in the Community without the need for an entrance exam.

Regarding the Master’s degree in Musical Interpretation in Artistic Education, access can be granted with a Music Degree, Music Graduate, or equivalent degree, proving training in the corresponding instrument, and after passing the entrance exam for said Master’s degree at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Castilla y León.

Before the start of the application period, the centers will publish on their notice boards and websites the number of spots available for each specialization or itinerary, as well as the specifics of each exam.
